The Man Who Sleeps

Overview

We created a vision through Fashion Films. In this case, it's the feeling of waiting. The specific emotion of having no other way but to wait for something that probably won't happen. Or a person who will never return. Being trapped in this mental state is the goal of these images and which accompanies everyone's life.

Challenges & Approach

The idea for the video comes from the French drama “The man who sleeps”(Un homme qui dort, 1974), directed by Bernard Queysanne and Georges Perec. A 25-year-old male student in Paris becomes indifferent to the world around him, and subsequently feels a strong sense of alienation and hopelessness. In a scene of the film, the symbolic phrase of the video is pronounced, which contains the meaning of it. The state of mind of many young people nowadays.

The result

Even if short and simple, the video perfectly captures the goal. Consciously choosing to put yourself in an environment where waiting in vain is inevitable.
